Federer predicts "great future" for Carreno-Busta

Roger Federer has admitted that he had not heard of Spanish qualifier Pablo Carreno-Busta prior to their first-round meeting at the French Open on Sunday.

The world number three needed just 80 minutes to defeat the 21-year-old 6-2 6-2 6-3.

Despite the ease of his victory, Federer claims that he was impressed by Carreno-Busta and he has tipped him to enjoy a successful career.

"I didn't know a great deal about my opponent," said Federer. "He played really well and has a great future."

Carreno-Busta won seven consecutive Futures tournaments earlier this year, a run which saw his world ranking soar from 654 to 166.
