Sara Errani "so happy" with French Open quarter-final berth

Sara Errani admits that she is "so happy" to be through to the French Open quarter-finals following her win over Jelena Jankovic.

Sara Errani has admitted that she is "so happy" to reach the quarter-finals of the French Open following her win over Jelena Jankovic.

The Italian 10th seed defeated the former world number one in three sets on Monday to book her place in the last eight of the tournament.

Errani's reward for beating Jankovic is an encounter with Germany's Andrea Petkovic.

"It was an unbelievably tough match today," the 27-year-old is quoted as saying by the WTA's official website. "All the points were very tough. I just tried to be focused.

"Of course, it was very important to win that first set. I'm so happy to get through to the quarter-finals here again."

Errani's only appearance to date in a Grand Slam singles final came at Roland Garros in 2012, when she was beaten by Maria Sharapova.
