Novak Djokovic "very happy" with resounding win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Djokovic "very happy" with victory

Novak Djokovic has admitted that he is "very happy" with his resounding straight-sets win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the French Open.

The world number two eased into the quarter-finals at Roland Garros on Sunday as he hammered the Frenchman 6-1 6-4 6-1.

Djokovic, who has never won the French Open, will now face eighth seed Milos Raonic for a spot in the next round.

"With the support Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has on home soil, I needed to start with a high intensity, good movements and try to get as close to baseline as possible," the Serbian is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"I prepared well with my team and I executed very well. For each player there are certain types of patterns and tactics you prepare. The scoreline was perfect for me and I'm very happy with that performance."

Djokovic reached the semi-finals of last year's tournament in Paris before losing to eventual champion Rafael Nadal.
