Eugenie Bouchard has admitted that she executed her game plan "really well" to beat Angelique Kerber in the fourth round of the French Open.
The 20-year-old Canadian hammered the 10th seed 6-1 6-2 on Sunday to reach the quarter-finals in Paris for the first time.
"Today my goal of taking it early worked really well - I was really going for my shots," the 18th seed told the WTA's official website. "I felt good out there. I think I executed my game-plan really well, so I'm pretty happy with that.
"I mean, I'm confident. I really believe in my skills. I believe I can play with the best girls out there. She's top 10, so I respect her, and she can play some really good tennis, so I was really mentally prepared for anything, for a battle. I think that kind of mind-set really helped me out there today."
Waiting for Bouchard in the last eight at Roland Garros will be Carla Suarez Navarro following the Spaniard's win over Ajla Tomljanovic.
