Wawrinka edges out Raonic in Cincinnati

Stanislas Wawrinka has edged into the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open thanks to a narrow three-set victory over Milos Raonic.

Wawrinka was brushed aside 6-2 in the opening set before he gained parity by winning a tie-break 7-5 in the second.

The Swiss then found an elusive break of the Canadian's serve to clinch the match 6-4.

Wawrinka will now play either fellow countryman Roger Federer or Mardy Fish for a place in Sunday's final.
