Rafael Nadal into third round of Cincinnati Open

Rafael Nadal has booked a place in the third round of the Cincinnati Open with a straight-sets victory over Julien Benneteau.

The Frenchman put up a fight against the world number two in the first set, but Nadal's powerful strokes proved too much, taking the set 6-4.

Benneteau dug his heels in again during the second, but Nadal went on to win the set 7-5.

The Spaniard will now face fellow countryman Fernando Verdasco in the third round.
