Rafael Nadal comes through Pablo Cuevas test in Cincinnati

Rafael Nadal is through to the third round of the Cincinnati Open with a straight-sets win over Pablo Cuevas.

Rafael Nadal has marked his return to the ATP Tour with a straight-sets win over Pablo Cuevas at the Cincinnati Open.

The Spaniard reached the semi-finals of the Olympic Games but he had not played a match on the main tour since encountering wrist problems at Roland Garros.

However, he continued his recent form by sealing a 6-1 7-6 victory over world number 19 Cuevas who failed to break Nadal's serve throughout the 90-minute contest.

Nadal will face Borna Coric in the last 16 after the Croatian beat Nick Kyrgios.
