Andy Murray through to last eight in Cincinnati

Top seed Andy Murray is through to the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open with a straight-sets win over Kevin Anderson.

Andy Murray has defeated Kevin Anderson in straight sets to move through to the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open.

The British number one had not played Anderson since losing to the big-serving South African at last year's US Open but he made light work of his opponent on Thursday evening.

After a rain delay, Murray returned to break Anderson's serve twice during the opening set and he did the same in the second to run out a 6-3 6-2 winner.

Murray will face Bernard Tomic for a place in the last four.
