Andy Murray safely through at Cincinnati Open

Andy Murray makes it through to round three of the Cincinnati Open with a 6-3 6-3 victory over Joao Sousa.

Andy Murray has booked his place in the third round of the Cincinnati Open with a straight-sets win over Joao Sousa.

The eighth seed will now face either John Isner or Marinko Matosevic for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Murray broke early in an opening set that saw him hit 11 winners, though he had to save a break point on his way to closing it out 6-3.

The Brit then opened up a 3-1 lead in the second, and he was able to seal his progress by breaking the Portuguese world number 37 again at 5-3.
