Nick Kyrgios has suffered a first-round defeat to Richard Gasquet at the Cincinnati Open.
The Australian was beaten 6-2 6-1 by the experienced Frenchman, though his performance was affected by a persistent back problem.
Gasquet broke his opponent twice in both sets, sealing his progress with a comfortable win inside 58 minutes.
The Wimbledon semi-finalist will face Australian qualifier Thanasi Kokkinakis for a place in round three.
