Roger Federer has remained on course to defend his Australian Open crown with a straight-sets win over Marton Fucsovics.
The 36-year-old went into the match having not dropped a set in progressing through to the last 16, and that run continued as the Swiss ran out a 6-4 7-6 6-2 victor over the world number 80.
One break of serve was enough for Federer to take the opening set and although Fucsovics was able to take the second seed to a tie-break in the next, the Hungarian was still without a break point.
Federer dropped just four points on serve throughout the set and the pressure finally paid off as he took the breaker, while a dominant third resulted in the match being wrapped up in two hours and one minute.
Next up for Federer is Tomas Berdych, who dropped just nine games in breezing past Fabio Fognini earlier on Monday.
