Richard Gasquet beats Nikolay Davydenko in straight sets

Richard Gasquet has beaten Nikolay Davydenko in straight sets at the Australian Open.

Despite winning every set, Gasquet was made to work but eventually came through 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 against the former world number three.

A back and forth first set saw the Frenchman take the tie break 7-3, before he finished the match off in two hours and 22 minutes.

The win moves Gasquet into the third round.
