Del Potro overcomes Mannarino

Adrian Mannarino gave Juan Martin del Potro a tough game in the first round of the Australian Open; however it was the Spaniard that came out on top in the end with a 6-2 1-6 5-7 4-6 victory.

Mannarino surprised Del Potro in the opening round by impressively taking the set 6-2.

However, the Argentine came back to take the second 6-1 in a thoroughly dominant set.

The third set proved to be the turning point in the game as both players battled before Del Potro finally took the set 7-5.

In the fourth set, Mannarino worked hard to stay in the game but it Del Potro secured the victory 6-4 and went through to the second round.
