Maria Sharapova prepared for "untraditional" Peng Shuai

Maria Sharapova expects to face a tough test against the "untraditional" Peng Shuai in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Maria Sharapova has claimed that she will be tested by the "untraditional" Peng Shuai in the fourth round of the Australian Open on Sunday.

The second seed set up the meeting with a comfortable victory over Zarina Diyas, and she believes that Peng's powerful style will force her to produce her best form as she looks to continue her bid for a second title in Melbourne.

"We've always had good matches. She's had great success in the last few Slams. You know, she's a bit of an untraditional player with two hands on both sides. That's a little tricky. But, yeah, I enjoy playing against her," Sharapova told reporters.

"I mean, she hits the ball quite flat as well, and deep. Just really have to be ready for those shots to always come back. Yeah, I look forward to a good matchup.

"I think she's someone that actually gets better by playing matches, when she gets a good feeling of her strokes, because so much depends on her groundstrokes and the fluidity of how she hits."

Twenty-first seed Peng reached the fourth round with a 7-6 6-3 win over Yaroslava Shvedova.
