Rafael Nadal hopes Bernard Tomic bounces back from injury

Nadal wants Tomic to bounce back

World number one Rafael Nadal has expressed his sympathy towards Bernard Tomic, who suffered a groin problem during his first-round clash against the Spaniard at the Australian Open.

The 21-year-old was forced to retire after the first set, which stood at 6-4 in Nadal's favour.

"I want to say I am very sorry for Bernard I hope he gets better," the Australian Open official Twitter account quotes Nadal as saying. "I know how tough this situation is. I had it few years ago."

Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have all progressed into the second round.
