Sam Groth relieved with win

Australian Sam Groth is relieved that his serve held during his win over Filip Krajinovic in the first round of the Australian Open.

Sam Groth has said that he was thankful his serve was strong during his first-round win at the Australia Open earlier today.

The Australian beat Serbia's Filip Krajinovic 6-3 7-6 6-4 to set up a match with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round.

The world number 82 told reporters: "Obviously I live in Melbourne now and haven't had great runs in the main draw, be it in quallies or the main draw.

"During the second set I wasn't making as many groundies as I wanted to, but thankfully the serve held true."

The win is Groth's first at his home Grand Slam event, and just his second in the four majors.
