Kyle Edmund: 'I couldn't find any rhythm'

Edmund: 'I couldn't find any rhythm'

Kyle Edmund has revealed that he is taking the positives from his Australian Open experience, despite losing in straight sets to Steve Johnson.

The American had too much consistency for Edmund, who created just one break point throughout the match, but the British number three is pleased with his first experience of a Grand Slam tournament outside of Wimbledon.

The 20-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "There wasn't a lot of rhythm due to the fact that he was serving really well. It's just something I have to take away, work on and use as a stepping stone to get better.

"To qualify, win three matches and play my first round is a good experience. Looking back on it, it's still been a good week."

Edmund will be hoping that the ranking points achieved in Melbourne can help him remain inside the world's top 200.
