Tomas Berdych: 'I want to go all the way after beating Rafael Nadal'

Berdych: "I want to go all the way"

Tomas Berdych has expressed determination to win his first Australian Open title after beating Rafael Nadal in straight sets at the quarter-final stage.

The 29-year-old ended a 17-game losing run against the Spaniard by sealing a 6-2 6-0 7-6(5) victory in Melbourne.

"I was definitely ready for it," Berdych told reporters. "I set up a plan and stuck to it really well. That was the difference from the previous matches.

"[Coach Dani Vallverdu] mentioned a couple of things and they were both right. I am really happy with the way we are working together. I am feeling strong and I want to go all the way."

Berdych will face either Andy Murray or home favourite Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals.
