Victoria Azarenka: 'I can be happy with performance'

Two-time winner Victoria Azarenka insists that she can be pleased with her progress since injury forced her to miss the conclusion of the 2014 WTA season.

Victoria Azarenka has expressed her belief that she should feel positive about her game despite bowing out in the Australian Open fourth round to Dominika Cibulkova.

The two-time champion missed the final months of the 2014 season through injury, but after getting three victories under her belt in Melbourne, the Belarusian has revealed that she feels content with her showing at the first Grand Slam of the year.

The 25-year-old told reporters: "I think that there are a lot of the positive things to take from here. There was some good quality of tennis today, even though the result is not the one that I wanted and not what I was looking for.

"But I need to be realistic a little bit and keep working hard and try to sharpen my game. I need to be more consistent and I need to be able to take my opportunities when I have them. But overall, I can be pretty happy."

Azarenka, a former world number one, has dropped down to number 42 in the WTA standings in recent months.
