Nineteen-year-old Linda Noskova stuns world number one Iga Swiatek to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open, while Cameron Norrie overcomes Casper Ruud.

World number one Iga Swiatek has been shocked at the Australian Open, with the Pole knocked out in the third round of the competition by the unseeded Linda Noskova.

Swiatek took the first set 6-3, and it did appear that she would have too much for her 19-year-old opponent, but Noskova fought back to claim a 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory to advance to the fourth round.

Noskova is in the fourth round of a major for the first time and said after the shock win that she was "speechless", having been able to navigate her way past the number one in the world for arguably the biggest shock of the tournament so far.

The loss ended Swiatek's 18-match unbeaten run, and Noskova will take on Ukrainian 19th seed Elina Svitolina in the next round, with the latter overcoming Viktorija Golubic courtesy of a 6-2 6-3 success.

British number one Cameron Norrie has also advanced to the fourth round, with the 19th seed recording a 6-4 6-7 (7-9) 6-4 6-3 win over Casper Ruud.

Norrie's reward for overcoming Rudd is a clash with the German Alexander Zverev, who beat American teenager Alex Michelsen 6-2 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 to progress to the fourth round.

Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz also advanced, with his opponent Shang Juncheng being forced to retire through injury in the third set of their contest.

Alcaraz, 20, led 6-1 6-1 1-0 when 18-year-old Juncheng, who had a medical timeout for treatment on a thigh problem, was forced to end the match.

The Spaniard missed last year's Australian Open with a leg issue, but he is expected to be one of the main challengers to Novak Djokovic for the trophy this year.

Miomir Kecmanovic will be Alcaraz's opponent, with the Serbian beating 14th seed Tommy Paul 6-4 3-6 2-6 7-6 (9-7) 6-0 during a thriller.

Elsewhere in the men's draw, French wildcard Arthur Cazaux, who is the world number 122, eliminated 30th seed Tallon Griekspoor courtesy of a 6-3 6-3 6-1 success.

Cazaux will meet Hubert Hurkacz, who beat Ugo Humbert 3-6 6-1 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 to secure his spot in the fourth round of the competition.

There will also be a clash between Daniil Medvedev and Nuno Borges in the fourth round, with the former beating Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3 6-4 6-3, and the latter recording a 6-7 (3-7) 6-4 6-2 7-6 (8-6) success over Grigor Dimitrov.

Elsewhere in the women's draw, Zheng Qinwen beat Wang Yafan 6-4 2-6 7-6 (10-8) in the third round to set up a contest with Oceane Dodin, who beat unseeded French player Clara Burel 6-2 6-4 .

Anna Kalinskaya recorded a 6-7 (8-10) 6-1 6-4 win over Sloane Stephens to set up a clash with Jasmine Paolini, who beat Anna Blinkova 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 in their third-round encounter.

Dayana Yastremska also advanced, beating Emma Navarro 6-2 2-6 6-1 to set up a contest with Victoria Azarenka, who overcame Jelena Ostapenko 6-1 7-5.
