Paul, Joanna Drinkhall win CWG gold

Paul Drinkhall and Joanna Drinkhall have won the all-English table tennis mixed doubles final at the Commonwealth Games to take gold.

The husband-and-wife couple defeated Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho 3-2 at the Scotstoun centre in a match that went the whole distance.

Paul and Joanna Drinkhall raced into a two-game lead before Pitchford and Ho pulled back to level the contest at 2-2.

The Drinkhalls, who won bronze in Delhi four years ago, showed real character to win the deciding set 11-5 to take gold.

Kelly Sibley and Danny Reed had earlier won bronze to ensure a clean sweep of medals for Team England in the event.
