Manaudou wins 50m freestyle gold for France

Florent Manaudou of France has picked up the gold medal in the men's 50m freestyle at London 2012.

The 21-year-old, considered an underdog going into the race, powered to a 21.34s finish to edge out Cullen Jones of the United States.

Jones picked up sliver for his time of 21.54s, while the hotly-tipped Brazilian Cesar Cielo clocked up a time of 21.59s to secure bronze.

Cielo's compatriot Bruno Fratus, who came in a fraction of a second behind him, went home empty-handed in fourth place.
