Renshaw pips bronze in 200m breaststroke

Team England's Molly Renshaw held off a challenge from Scotland's Hannah Miley to take bronze in the 200m breaststroke final on Saturday evening.

Renshaw finished with a strong final 50m to stay ahead of the rest of the pack, behind runaway winner Taylor McKeown and her Australian teammate Sally Hunter.

McKeown's winning time was 2:22.36 minutes, almost a second ahead of Hunter and nearly three in front of Renshaw's 2:25.00. Miley finished just outside of the medals in fourth.

There was a surprise push from Jamaican swimmer Alia Atkinson, who was third at the final turn but faded to seventh.
