Roebuck "relieved" to have made final

Joe Roebuck has admitted that he is "relieved" to have qualified for the 200m individual medley final on the last day of swimming at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The Team England swimmer, who failed in both the 100m and 200m butterfly events, posted a fifth-fastest time of 2:00.46 this morning at Tollcross.

"I'm relieved to have made the final," Roebuck told reporters. "I've kind of had a cock-up of a week - misjudged the 200m fly, the 100m fly, I didn't quite have the speed, so yeah, I just knew I needed to 'do or die' today to make sure I came back tonight."

Roebuck also told Sports Mole that he has not been affected by the "loud" athletes in the Village after long jump star Greg Rutherford expressed his annoyance on Twitter.
