England's Mick Gault equals record Commonwealth Games medal haul

England's Gault makes CWG history

England's Mick Gault has taken bronze in the men's 10m air pistol to equal the record of most medals ever won at the Commonwealth Games.

The 60-year old retired from the sport following the 2012 London Olympics, but announced his return earlier this year to attempt to match the 18-medal tally set by Australian shooter Phillip Adams.

Gault recorded a score of 167.5 at the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre, with India's Prakash Nanjappa and Daniel Repacholi of Australia taking silver and gold respectively.

Meanwhile, fellow Team England shooter Stewart Nangle missed out on a medal, finishing in fifth place.
