Steve Scott: 'No pressure in final'

Steve Scott admits that he had to shoot perfectly to beat Matthew French in the double trap final.

Team England double trap gold medal winner Steve Scott has insisted that there was no pressure on him in the final against compatriot Matthew French on Sunday.

Scott won the individual gold to add to the pairs one that he won in Delhi four years ago, and he said that his perfect record in the shootout with French was exactly what was required.

"I said to Matthew before I don't care who wins because if I could take losing to anyone then it would be him," he told Team England. "We've done a lot of training together and practiced high pressure situations.

"That is what you need to win gold but I did not think it would take 30 out of 30. I thought another 27 would do but Matthew kept the pressure on until the end with some awesome shooting."

Charlotte Kerwood won the women's event.
