Liam Williams: "No pressure" on Wales to succeed in Six Nations finale

Williams: "No pressure" on Wales to succeed

Wales winger Liam Williams believes that his side can use today's staggered Six Nations schedule to their advantage as they look to claim a third title in four years.

The Red Dragons kick off the final round of fixtures knowing that realistically they will have to pick up a heavy win in their meeting with Italy at the Stadio Olimpico.

Attention then turns to Ireland, France and England, each of whom are also in with a chance of lifting the crown.

Despite heading into the lunchtime clash with Italy not knowing what exactly is needed to come out on top in the standings, Williams is confident that the lack of pressure on Wales, compared to that of their title rivals, will work massively in their favour.

"The first priority for us is to get the win," he is quoted as saying by BT Sport. "Hopefully, we will be able to stick some points on them in the second-half, but before we do anything we need to come out on the right side of the scoreboard.

"In the first-half, we will kick our goals, then after the break we will see if it's okay to open up. There is no pressure on us. We are on first to play, we will go out there, do the business and then sit back and watch the other matches.

"It would be huge [to win the title] for Wales, heading towards the World Cup. But we know a lot of things need to happen for that to come to pass. All we can do is try to do our bit against Italy, and then keep our fingers crossed."

Wales have made two changes for the crunch match in Rome, bringing Rob Evans and Aaron Jarvis back into the fold.
