Stephen Jones has failed to recover from a calf injury in time for Wales's opening World Cup match against South Africa.

Stephen Jones is expected to miss Wales’s first World Cup match against South Africa on Sunday.

The 33-year-old, who has been suffering with a calf injury, was forced to miss the team’s warm-up matches last month.

Indications have suggested that the British and Irish Lion will not be fit enough to return to the national side this weekend, according to BBC Sport.

Welshmen James Hook and Rhys Preistland are possible replacements for the fly-half.
