Sam Warburton will see a shoulder specialist today to assess the injury sustained during Wales's title-clinching win over France on Saturday.

Grand Slam-winning Wales captain Sam Warburton will see a shoulder specialist today to assess the injury that forced him off at the half-way point of Wales's title-clinching 16-9 win over France on Saturday.

It is feared that the injury could mean that the Cardiff Blues flanker will miss Wales's summer Test series in Australia.

Warburton underwent an MRI scan after the match but it was decided that further tests were needed.

"Not much showed up on it," Warburton said. "There is a bit of concern because I am still in quite a bit of discomfort.

"The MRI scan did not show any soft tissue damage. It may be that it is more complicated than that, such as something to do with nerves, which would not have shown up.

"I do not know what to think – it could be two weeks, or it could be two months. I hope it is shorter, rather than longer."

Wales's win on Saturday marks their third Grand Slam in eight seasons, the second under head coach Warren Gatland.
