James Hook: 'No regrets moving to France'

James Hook says that he does not regret moving to Perpignan despite that meaning he misses Test matches for his country.

Wales back James Hook has said that he has no regrets about playing in the Top 14 for Perpignan despite that ruling him out of his country's final Autumn International against Australia.

The 28-year-old, who moved to France from Ospreys two years ago, has not been released for the crucial clash at the Millennium Stadium, as he has club duties against Clermont Auvergne to fulfil.

Although Hook admitted that he would love to play against the Wallabies a week on Saturday, he said that he will not dwell on the fact that he is missing the game.

"I've no regrets about [moving to France], it has enhanced my rugby and I think I'm a better player because of it," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.

"It has given me the experience of playing in a different league and got me out of my comfort zone, having to speak a different language and so on.

"In an ideal world you want to be available for next week. I'm not, so I just get on with it."

Hook is expected to feature in this weekend's penultimate match in the autumn series against Tonga.
