Delon Armitage given eight-week ban

Toulon's Delon Armitage has been given an eight-week ban after being found guilty of a tip tackle during a recent Heineken Cup match against Montpellier.

Armitage was sent to the sin bin for his tackle on Pierre Berard during the first half of Toulon's 23-3 defeat at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir on Saturday.

The 29-year-old had pleaded not guilty to the charge, but he has now been punished at a disciplinary hearing in Dublin.

The suspension means that Armitage is unavailable for Toulon until March 18.
