Kristian Phillips returns to home club Ospreys

Kristian Phillips leaves Scarlets to sign for home club Ospreys.

Ospreys have announced the signing of Scarlets winger Kristian Phillips.

A product of Ospreys youth academy, Phillips became the youngest player, when aged 17 years and 250 days, to start a match and score for the region. Both records still stand.

Phillips moved from Ospreys to Scarlets three years ago.

"It's great to be back," Phillips told reporters. "I know the place but it's a different environment to what it was when I was here last, in terms of the culture and everything.

"This is my home region and it's where I learnt my trade as a youngster coming through, so I'm obviously really pleased to get the opportunity to re-sign for the Ospreys.

"I feel that I've improved as a player while I've been away and I'm looking forward to continuing my development this season and, hopefully, challenging for a place in the matchday 23 week in, week out."

Phillips, 24, made seven PRO12 appearances last season, scoring two tries.
