Scarlets say that George North did not sustain a serious neck injury during their game against Ulster on Friday evening.

Scarlets have confirmed that George North was not seriously injured in the Pro12 defeat to Ulster yesterday evening.

The wing was stretchered off the field in a neck brace during the game, but was able to fly back from Belfast with his teammates this morning.

A statement from the Welsh club said: "There was no significant or serious damage to his neck. He will be assessed further by the Scarlets medical team on Monday.

"It is too early to assess the full extent of the injury or indeed the recovery period at this stage."

It's not known whether the injury will keep the 20-year-old out of the Six Nations, with Wales due to get their campaign underway on February 2.
