Incoming Scarlets flanker John Barclay has been ruled out of Scotland's tour of South Africa next month due to injury.
The 26-year-old, who will leave Glasgow Warriors at the end of the season, will undergo shoulder surgery this week to correct a long-standing problem, according to BBC Sport.
However, Scottish Rugby have revealed that they have no plans "at this juncture" to call up a replacement to the squad.
Scotland will face South Africa, Samoa and Italy during their tour.
