Mamuka Gorgodze talks up Georgia team performance

Georgia captain Mamuka Gorgodze tells Sports Mole that the whole team performed at "100%" during their win over Tonga at the Rugby World Cup.

Georgia captain Mamuka Gorgodze has insisted that every player on his side was at "100%" during their 17-10 victory over Tonga this afternoon.

Milton Haig's side pulled off something of a shock at Kingsholm in the second match of the tournament, holding off a late siege from the Pacific Islanders to begin their campaign with a victory - just their third ever at a World Cup.

Gorgodze put in a man-of-the-match display for the Europeans, making 27 tackles and scoring a try, but he was quick to pay tribute to the entire team for what was a famous triumph.

"The Tonga team is very hard to play against - for big teams, not for small teams like Georgia, but for big teams," he told Sports Mole.

"Against Tonga it is a very tough game, very physical game, and it was a very difficult and tough game.

"I don't like to speak for myself. I think because I am the captain, I got man of the match. The Georgian team worked 100% - all of the players were the same."

Georgia take on Argentina, New Zealand and Namibia in their next three Pool C outings.
