Salvi to swap Leicester for Exeter

Leicester Tigers flanker Julian Salvi will join Exeter Chiefs at the end of the season.

It was revealed earlier this week that the 29-year-old plans to call time on his Welford Road career when his contract expires in the summer.

Salvi, who has spent four years at Leicester, will now link up with former teammate Geoff Parlin at Exeter.

"The more detail we went into, the better and better he looked," Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter told BBC Sport. "Everyone will know him as a defensive player, but in reality we were really pleased with his attacking qualities.

"I've been very impressed with his form this season and very impressed with his durability. I think he's going to be a fantastic role model for a few of our guys."

Leicester and Exeter are both in the Aviva Premiership's top four heading into the final round of fixtures, although neither are guaranteed a playoff place.
