England overcome Wales in Six Nations

England score two tries on their way to recording a 29-18 victory over Wales in the Six Nations.

England made it three wins from four 2014 Six Nations encounters courtesy of a 29-18 victory over Wales at Twickenham this afternoon.

The visiting Dragons were kept in contention for the majority of the contest thanks to the boot of Leigh Halfpenny, but England's two first-half tries proved to be the difference.

It took the hosts just six minutes to cross the line for the first time as Danny Care caught the Welsh side out with a quickly-taken penalty.

Owen Farrell duly converted for a 7-0 lead, before Halfpenny reduced the arrears three minutes later with a penalty.

Farrell and Halfpenny then exchanged two penalties each, but a converted try from Luther Burrell six minutes before the break opened up a 20-9 advantage.

However, Halfpenny responded with two penalties to send his side into the interval 20-15 behind.

The second half was all about the two kickers, as Farrell scored three penalties to Halfpenny's one, which put the home team into a 29-18 advantage, which Wales failed to breach in the closing stages.
