Stuart Lancaster expects England response against Scotland

England coach Stuart Lancaster is confident that his side will boost their Six Nations hopes with a victory over Scotland.

England coach Stuart Lancaster has backed his side to return to winning ways against Scotland in the Six Nations.

Lancaster's men saw their hopes of lifting the trophy dented last time out with a 19-9 defeat to holders Ireland.

However, the 45-year-old believes that his players will have learned valuable lessons against the Irish as they prepare for Saturday's game at Twickenham Stadium.

"You forget about some of the players we have had out injured. A lot have come back into the squad now and you look around the quality in the squad and it is great," he told reporters. "But it is all about Saturday now, the game against Scotland, and delivering on the day with the 23 players we have selected.

"We did a lot right against Ireland as well as some things wrong. There were definitely lessons to be learned. But the players have taken that on board and we go again."

Mike Brown and Courtney Lawes have both returned to the England starting XV for the clash with the Scots.
