Lancaster: 'Beating Wales could have World Cup impact'

Stuart Lancaster has said that beating Wales in the Six Nations this weekend could help England "psychologically" in next year's Rugby World Cup.

The two sides are in the same pool in the tournament, along with Australia and a qualifier from Oceania.

The coach told BBC Sport: "We play Wales twice before the World Cup and Wales play Australia, psychologically there will be things there.

"It's a big game and we need to make sure we deliver on the field.

"We respect Wales as opponents, the quality and experience they have and how well they are set up. It will be a tough game, but we're ready."

Both sides need to win Sunday's game to keep their chances of winning the championship alive.
