Report: Jonny Wilkinson linked with World Cup coaching role

England could be set to offer Jonny Wilkinson a coaching role prior to the Rugby World Cup, according to reports.

World Cup-winning fly-half Jonny Wilkinson could reportedly be set for a return to the England team as a coach at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Wilkinson retired from rugby at the end of last season and has been working with French side Toulon on a part-time basis since.

Reports in France suggest that the 35-year-old has been offered a role as kicking consultant by England, but The Daily Mail warns that a deal is far from being agreed.

They report that Wilkinson was invited to England training during the Autumn Internationals, while the RFU have considered offering him a deal.

Wilkinson will be part of ITV's Rugby World Cup coverage.
