Manu Tuilagi admits that he has 'let everyone down' following his misbehaviour at the Rugby World Cup.

England's Manu Tuilagi believes that his misbehaviour at the Rugby World Cup let everybody down.

The 20-year-old was warned by police after he jumped off a ferry in Aukland, just hours after England had exited the competition at the quarter-final stage to France.

"First it was Martin Johnson. Obviously, he wasn't happy. He hit me with a £3,000 fine, we issued a brief statement and, from an England point of view, it was sorted," he told the Mail on Sunday.

"The worst moment was dealing with my mum. She wasn't at all happy and she didn't even know the whole story at first.

"In fact, I've let down my family, I've let down Martin Johnson and I've let down the people of England. It was such a stupid thing to do."

Tuilagi was also fined for a wearing a branded mouthguard during England's victories against Argentina and Georgia.
