Lawes fined for wearing branded gum shield

Lock Courtney Lawes has become the third England star to be fined for wearing a banned gum shield during the Rugby World Cup.

Skipper Lewis Moody and centre Manu Tuilagi also breached the IRB regulations on branded apparel.

All three players are believed to have been fined around £5,000 for the rule break.

Lawes made headlines earlier in the tournament when he was handed a two-match ban for striking Argentina's Mario Ledesma.
