Jamie Roberts 'ready to go to war against England'

Jamie Roberts suggests that Wales will need to get their body and mind "ready for warfare on the pitch" when they face England in the Rugby World Cup on Saturday.

Jamie Roberts has revealed that he is ready to go to war as Wales face England at Twickenham in the Rugby World Cup.

The match has been billed by many as the biggest pool game ever, with the loser in danger of being eliminated before the knockout stages.

However, while Roberts has conceded that home advantage will be a major boost for Stuart Lancaster's men, he has suggested that Wales will be prepared to battle for victory.

He told The Express: "It is all about getting your body and state of mind ready for warfare on the pitch.

"We're heading into a hostile environment. There will be pressure on England as host nation but they will be able to draw on the home crowd, just as we're hoping to do the same in Cardiff for our home matches in this tournament.

"I know it's a cliche but it really does feel like an extra man on the pitch. When you're really knackered it does pick you up to go again. England will be buoyed by that and we have to be prepared for it."

Wales reached the semi-finals of the 2011 tournament, losing 9-8 to France after captain Sam Warburton was sent off early on for a tip tackle on Vincent Clerc.
