Flanker Tom Wood is to miss England's World Cup warm-up match against Ireland on Saturday in Dublin.

According to England manager Martin Johnson, the 24-year-old has suffered a "mild calf strain".

The encounter is England's final game before the 30-man squad flies out to New Zealand for the World Cup.

The 2003 winners' first match is against Argentina on Saturday, September 10.
