England coach Stuart Lancaster to make changes for Samoa match

England coach Stuart Lancaster reveals that he will make changes for next weekend's international with Samoa to give fringe players an opportunity to impress.

Stuart Lancaster has revealed that he will make several changes for England's clash with Samoa next weekend as he tries to formulate his World Cup plans.

England suffered a fifth successive loss on Saturday when they were narrowly beaten 31-28 by South Africa at Twickenham, where they lost to New Zealand by the same scoreline seven days ago.

Lancaster feels that the visit of Samoa, who are ranked 11th in the world, is a good opportunity to shake things up and give some fringe players the opportunity to impress ahead of next year's tournament.

"This game probably confirms in my mind that it's the right thing to do," Lancaster told reporters. "We're not talking wholesale changes but there are some good players we need to find out about.

"We need to narrow down in our minds who can deliver when the white-hot pressure is on in 11 months' time."

After facing Samoa, England conclude their Autumn Internationals fixtures by hosting Australia on November 29.
