Mike Catt has revealed that he will do all he can to impress coach Stuart Lancaster during England's upcoming tour of South Africa.
The former England international has been handed a temporary role within Lancaster's coaching setup for the trip to face the Springboks.
Discussing his appointment, Catt has indicated that he would like to hold a permanent role within Lancaster's staff.
"Stuart has given me this opportunity I just want to take it with both hands," he told Sky Sports News. "My focus is on the now. This is my opportunity.
"I had quite a few of them for England as a player and now this is my opportunity as a coach to make sure I can set my stall out and work well with Graham Rowntree and Stuart and the players.
"It's not rocket science how Stuart wants us to play the game, he's very open minded. It's the environment that we're on and we're hoping to play at that level."
Catt was part of the England squad that won the World Cup in 2003.
