Sam Warburton admits that he cannot wait to get back on the pitch, having missed the British and Irish Lions' last two fixtures.

British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton has admitted that he cannot wait to get back on the pitch following the knee injury that has kept him out of the two warm-up games so far.

Warburton, who is back in the team for the Test against Queensland Reds, said that the game cannot come quickly enough for him to get involved once more.

"I wish the game was tomorrow, really," BBC Sport quotes Warburton as saying. "I am just dying to get on the pitch. It can't come quick enough. Since we got together as a squad it has been amazing. I have absolutely loved it, even though I haven't played.

"I don't feel left out at all. Now I have got a chance on Saturday. I have been thinking about this game for quite a while now, and I am absolutely desperate to get on the pitch.

"All the back-rowers have done exceptionally well, which I am sure makes selection very tough. Those Test spots are what everyone is playing for."

Warburton has 38 caps for Wales.
