Mike Ford hails "fantastic" Bath following win over Leicester Tigers

Bath head coach Mike Ford describes his team's hammering of Leicester Tigers as "absolutely fantastic".

Bath head coach Mike Ford has described his side's 45-0 thrashing of Leicester Tigers in the Aviva Premiership as "absolutely fantastic".

The West-Country club ran in five tries at the Recreation Ground on Saturday as they humiliated their old rivals to go top of the table.

Bath are one point clear of second-placed Saracens after winning all three of their opening matches of the season.

"We were very good in all aspects, pretty relentless really – to nil Leicester is absolutely fantastic," Ford is quoted as saying by the Bath Chronicle.

"This time last year we were 21-3 up at half time against Leicester and they came back to score three tries themselves. We seem to be better at learning from the past which is what this young team needs.

"The five tries and bonus point is the most pleasing thing. To be in with a chance of winning games you've got to be able to score points. We know Leicester have got injuries but the way we played, the way we defended and attacked, was outstanding."

Bath continue their league campaign next Saturday when they travel to reigning champions Northampton Saints.
