Leinster have taken a giant step to topping Pool Three of the Heineken Cup with a 52-27 demolition of Bath at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The hosts took an early lead when Rob Kearney touched down after only four minutes. Jonathan Sexton was on hand to kick the extras.
On a miserable day for the visitors, Olly Barkley got Bath on the scoreboard with a penalty after eight minutes, before Sexton's drop goal three minutes later gave the Irish side a 10-3 lead.
Another Barkley penalty reduced the deficit, but Luke Fitzgerald's try and Sexton's conversion stretched the hosts' advantage.
A try and conversion for Sexton just after the half hour mark saw Leinster go 24-6 up at the break.
Second-half tries from Fitzgerald, Eoin Reddan and Kevin McLaughlin saw the home side move out of sight of their opponents, with Sexton proving reliable with the boot.
Stephen Donald touched down to give Bath their first try of the evening, while Barkley kicked the extras to make the score 45-13.
The West Country side went over again soon after thanks to Dave Attwood, but Rhys Ruddock's converted try cancelled his effort out.
Bath were able to show occasional spirit and went over with the last move of the match thanks to Ben Williams.
