Matt Giteau hints at international retirement

Australian fly-half Matt Giteau hints that he may have played his last game for the national side.

Australian fly-half Matt Giteau has hinted that he may have played his last game for the national side.

Coach Robbie Deans names his 30-man World Cup squad on Thursday, and Giteau appears to have broken the news of his ommission on Twitter.

"Thank u ballboys, thank u linesman? That's it...," he wrote.

The 29-year-old later added: "Really wanna thank everyone for the support! Was a huge honour to get the chance to represent my country as often as I did very privileged."

Giteau, who has 91 caps, played no part in the Wallabies' recent Tri-Nations campaign after being dropped as a result of the Aussies' shock defeat to Samoa in July.
